Readers of this blog know that I link to the happening news in Massachusetts politics. So, when the headline “Christy Mihos strikes back” came across Google Reader, I figured I had an interesting topic for today’s front page. When I clicked on the article, I landed on a Boston Craigslist page. Now, I’ve linked to some pretty wacky blogs over the last few months, but that was strange even for me.
The Craigslist page said it was referencing a blog post from Moe Lauzier. That name didn’t mean anything to me, but a quick Google search indicated it probably means something to those of you who have been in Massachusetts for years. I myself have only been here four months.
I couldn’t verify the letter, and its contents do not appear to be on the Christy Mihos web site. Maybe it’s transcribed from a speech he gave, I’m not sure. Regardless, below are the two links to the letter and the letter itself.

Before I ask you for your support please allow me to explain something in both this morning’s Globe and Herald. Both articles imply I am some kind of shady businessman who ducks out on his obligations. If you want a detailed answer to what has transpired we have copies of an analysis prepared by Joe Manzoli of the Mihos for Governor Campaign.
I have been in business over forty years and have owned as many as 150 stores. Christy’s has never been accused of welshing on its debts and I am not about to begin at this time of my life.
One of the reasons businessmen do not get involved in politics is a lifetime of honest business dealings can be trumped by one unsubstantiated accusation.
Winston Churchill once said, “A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on”. How true.
If I was guilty of conducting business in an unethical way I would have withdrawn from the race for governor. I have done nothing wrong.
I have been campaigning for the office of governor for more than five years. I have been a guest on hundreds of talk programs where callers can say whatever they wish. I have been a guest host where callers were not screened. Not once has a former employee or customer called to say they were mistreated by me or my business.

I believe I allready have been told about this subject
at pub 1 day ago by a mate, but at that time
it didn’t caugh my attention.
